After running a successful inauguration, Steve Crawford was retained as spokesperson for the Deval Patrick Committee and assisted in generating media for the launch of the revised Deval Patrick Web site. The new site, the first of its kind, was designed to engage citizens directly with the Governor by facilitating coalitions around issues that matter most to residents of the state. In a coordinated public relations campaign, Crawford Strategies was able to effectively generate substantial state-wide press coverage that connected thousands of citizens to the Patrick administration through the Web site.
Crawford Strategies has continued to manage communications for the Governor’s political committee. Steve Crawford has facilitated the press for a series of successful town hall meetings conducted by the Governor in addition to the Governor’s ongoing political agenda. Crawford Strategies also managed the media for Governor Patrick’s endorsement of Barack Obama for President, which took place during a major Barack Obama rally in the Boston Common.
As Barack Obama’s most sought after surrogate, Governor Patrick became a focus of the national media during the 2008 Presidential Election. Crawford Strategies oversaw the Governor’s national press, while still ensuring local coverage at home. Steve Crawford coordinated the Governor’s press and joined the Governor at the 2008 Democratic Convention, where the Governor addressed the Convention the night of Barack Obama’s nomination.
